  You only have to keep the calorie count above zero, so you can do this simply by rationing out your food to just keep it about 500 calories, this will do you fine.
  
  Much easier on Pilgrim with abundance of resources available to you.
  
  You're on the right track if 3 days in you receive the Well Fed benefit.
