    Ensure ancient ruins are enabled when you generate the map. Larger map sizes may be easier.

    Shoshone starts with a Pathfinder, so you should begin exploring the map immediately, dodging barbarians as necessary (or turning them off entirely) to ensure that same Pathfinder stays alive long enough to find five ancient ruins.
