How to unlock the Unboxing achievement

  I found a shielded world belonging to a Militant Isolationist Fallen Empire.
  In late game I setup an outpost bordering their space and they declared war to clear me out.
  Once peace was achieved my science ships went and surveyed their planets.
  
  An event window pops up, pick to "open it, for science".
  Once complete you have another option

  As a side note, there is an event that's part of the relics DLC, where you find an ancient moon base orbiting a shielded world. Without going into spoilers, opening the world in the course of this event does not pop this achievement. FYI.
