This is part of The Writer DLC.

Another no dying achievement, which become just as tiresome as the collectible achievements with this game. You know the drill, play it smart, dodge, use Flares, run when Alan isn't sounding like he needs an oxygen tank, etc. It's as easy as The Signal DLC, so it shouldn't be much more of a challenge.

Okay. In my opinion, this is the worst DLC in all of Alan Wake - not just this DLC. I spent about a dozen tries before getting it, dying from silly things that were mostly out of my control. Compare that to the same "no reload" achievement in "The Signal", which I did on my first try.

So here's a list of tips:

    1. The controls in Alan Wake aren't made for platforming and precise movement, yet the level designs in this DLC implements a lot of such elements. Therefore, be ready to start over and over and over.

    2. Go for this achievement last. Maybe you'll accidentally get it while trying to get some of the other achievements, but don't try to get this achivement while going for the others. Also, knowing what to expect will help a lot.

    3. Take your time, when you can. Line up jumps. When you get to the whirlwind, I suggest using bridge parts with railing to get around. If the railing is in the way when you're about to jump off, just circle the whirlwind once and it should be clear the second time.

    4. When you're fighting on the bridge, take the pump action shotgun with you after you've dealt with both waves of enemies, leaving the rifle behind. The shotgun will be more useful in the barrel area, with its spread shot. Save the flashbangs from the start of this area.

    5. In the barrel area, make sure to get the most out of the exploding barrels. You can get a nice domino effect with the exploding barrels, clearing the area all the way to the corner. When you get there, do the same thing, and you should at most have to deal with three taken manually.

    6. In the maze/paris wheel, when you get to the vault door, just stand and wait by it. It will open in time without you having to do anything. Then you can just run through the clicker room and into the elevator.

    7. In the area with the hanging rope bridges, you can activate three of the Zane inspired lanterns before getting onto the first bridge, and the fourth can be activated before getting completely to the other side. These will help with the crows. Don't be afraid to use some flares to make sure you don't get pushed off by the larger taken on the other side of that bridge. Also, be very careful with the hanging walkways/scaffolding right afterwards, as it is easy for Wake to clumsily walk off here.

    8. After the interview scene with Dr. Hartman, you should be pretty much "home free" in regards to easily falling off places. After the plane, just use a flare or two for the taken, and run to the next light.

    9. When you get to the lighthouse part, just focus on destroying those large pieces of rock that blocks the light from the lighthouse. In a couple of places it can be a good idea to just lure the taken back towards an area where the lighthouse reaches with its light. And again, don't be afraid to use flares or your flashlight to hold off the taken if they get too close, which they might.

    10. When you get to the cabin and the final fight, use your flashbangs on Barry, one for each iteration of him. While this fight isn't exactly hard, this helps make it even easier. Kill off the birds quickly, too.

I hope these tips help a little for anyone trying to get this achievement. Again, in my opinion, this is the worst achievement to get just because it's very easy to be unlucky due to the clunky movement controls. Best of luck to you!
