In the game settings enable the achievement tracking so you can keep an eye on exactly how many things you have crafted. Work your way up to an assembly machine, put it down somewhere central and use that assembly machine to build everything you may need. Save often in case you accidentally craft something.
By the time you have an assembly machine 3 and an oil refinery you shouldn't need to craft anything else and the counter should be around the 100 items mark. There is room for a few mistakes, but not many.
