  This appears after the loop ending. As soon as you toss your wife's picture into the closet with the rest, you can go to the right and find the book on the coffee table.

  After finally seeing all three endings, I can confirm that you can only get this if you received the following ending:

  This is achieved at the very end of the game.
  
  After finishing the checkers room, you will add your final thing to the painting. After a brief "moment" you will end up being back in your normal house upstairs. Simply read the book on the floor on the landing. This book location can be seen below:
